Inauguration ceremony of "Balakhani" Water Reservoirs was held

         “Azersu” OJSC continues measures for improvement of water supply of Baku and surrounding settlements. On the eve of Solidarity Day of World Azerbaijanis and New Year inauguration ceremony “Balakhani” Reservoirs Compound was held in Sabunchu region. In this regard taking place in the ceremony held on December 28 Chairman of “Azersu” OJSC Mr. Gorkhmaz Huseynov stated that Stock Company pays special attention to improvement of water supply of Baku and surrounding settlements. In frame of “2011-2013 State Program on socio-economical development of Baku and surrounding settlements” water supply and sewerage system surrounding settlements under reconstruction. According to the Action Plan construction of reservoirs compound with capacity of 80m3 for supplying Gala, Zira, Turkan and Pirallahi and other areas on continuing basis with high quality drinking water. In the compound 8 Nos reservoirs with capacity of 10 thousand each will be constructed. In the reservoirs compound a water pipeline DN=1400mm for transmitting water from Oguz-Gabala-Baku water pipeline and Jeyranbatan Water Treatment Plants. Drinking water will be transmitted to settlements by gravity.

       This project will improve drinking water supply of totally 950 thousand people in 26 settlements. It should be noted that presently water is transmitted by water carriers to Balakhani, Gala, Zira, Turkan, Pirallahi and other surrounding settlements.be noted that presently to ater from
