The first anniversary of commissioning of Oguz-Gabala-Baku water pipeline was celebrated

      A ceremony dedicated to the first anniversary of commissioning of Oguz-Gabala-Baku water pipeline was celebrated on December 28. Before the ceremony “Azersu” OJSC management and department staff visited the tomb of initiator and author of this project National leader Heydar Aliyev.

     Congratulating the collective Chairman of “Azersu” OJSC Mr. Gorkhmaz Huseynov stated that putting into operation of Oguz-Gabala-Baku water pipeline, one of the largest infrastructure projects, is a great historical event on development of water supply system of the capital and the Absheron Peninsula. Reminding that the idea of transmitting high quality drinking water from Oguz district to Baku was put forward by National leader Heydar Aliyev Chairman of ”Azersu” OJSC stated that the idea was carried out on regular attendance and instruction of the President Ilham Aliyev: “The project was founded in March 2007 in Sinjan village of Oguz, and construction works were begun. For supplying the pipeline with water 78 Nos operation wells and 20 Nos observation wells were dug in the region. Main water intake plants compounds were constructed at a height of 417m over sea level, at the same time regulatory structures were constructed on this pipeline for regulation of water. The capacity of water pipeline with length of 262,5km and DN=2000mm is 5m3/s according to the project now.

         Taking part in the ceremony the chief of Oguz-Gabala-Baku Department Ogtay Heybatov, head of Strategic Development Department of “Azersu” OJSC Ahmad Mammadov emphasized the importance of the project.

         In the ceremony 22 employees who had good tern in construction and exploitation of Oguz-Gabala-Baku water pipeline were awarded by Honored Order.
