A ceremony dedicated to the 50th anniversary of establishment of “Sukanal” Scientific Research and Design Institute was held.

      A ceremony on the 50th anniversary of establishment of “Sukanal” SRDI was held on December 27. Before the ceremony a film dedicated to establishment and operation of the institute was demonstrated.

         Having a look on the history of establishment of the institute the director of “Sukanal” SRDI Ogtay Heybatov said that this institute was established as a Baku branch of All-Union Scientific-Research “VODGEO” Institute following Order No 636 dated July 20, 1961 of Azerbaijan SSR Council Ministers. The operation of the institute was in the case of special attention and care as in all fields in the years, led by National leader Heydar Aliyev. In these years, the material-technical base of the institute was strengthened, staff potential is increased.

         Speaking about scientific researches and design Head of Strategic Development Department of “Azersu” OJSC Ahmed Mammadov said that extensive works were carried out on research of reservoirs designed on rivers and hydraulic facilities, study of the problems of interference with the marine waters and wastewater, carried out extensive work in the direction of the seawater and potabilization of seawater.

         Deputy Chairman of “Azersu” OJSC for Economic Affairs Mahir Mammadov congratulated on the occasion of anniversary of “Sukanal” SDRI staff and wished them success in the future activities. He emphasized that staff of the institute have a great responsibility in realizing tasks of the President Ilham Aliyev.

         At the end of the ceremony employees of “Sukanal” SRDI who had good tern in development of water sector were awarded by Honored Order and precious prizes.
