Water supply systems of 6 settlements of internally displaced persons were reconstructed.

         The project of improvement of drinking water supply systems in 6 settlements for internally displaced persons (IDP) was completed in Bilasuvar. Taking place in the ceremony dedicated to the use of water supply system the chairman of “Azersu” OJSC stated that improvement of living standards of refugees and IDPs, solving their welfare problems is the main issue in front of our country: “Being one of issues “2009-2013 State Program of Socio-economic Development of regions of Azerbaijan” and “2008-2015 State Program on Poverty Reduction and Sustainable Development” the implementation of the project on improvement of water supply of settlements of IDPs was started in May 2011. According to the project on reconstruction of water supply systems 12km long transmission main and 89km long distributor lines were laid and connected to 2602 apartments and administrative buildings.”

           A reservoir with a capacity of 100m3 and pumping stations were constructed and 18Nos pumps and 6Nos transformers are installed for the purpose of supplying on a continuing basis with drinking water in each settlement. The construction of reservoir in each region allows constructing water supply system by gravity and collecting additional provision. As a result of implementation of the project water supply of 12thousand IDPs in six settlements was substantially improved. It should be noted that 14 Nos subartesian wells dug in the vicinity supplies the settlements with drinking water.

         Taking part in the ceremony Deputy Prime Minister and head of State Committee on Refugees and IDPs Ali Hassanov said that infrastructure projects were carried out in dense populated areas of IDPs as a result of attention and care of country management to refugees and IDPs.

    At present OJSC Azersu is carrying out similar work in Fizuli, Agjabedi, and Agdam regions of Azerbaijan.
