Ujar, Zardab and Agsu regions will be supplied with drinking water from a new source.

      “Azersu” OJSC pays special attention to supplying population with high quality drinking water in accordance with the project. A new source was chosen on the project reconstruction of water supply and sewerage system of Ujar and Zardab that begun in the second half of 2011. If Zardab city is intended to be supplied with water from Kur River and Ujar from subartesian wells in Goychay region in the previous projects, the centers of both regions, as well as over 50 towns of these regions will be supplied with high quality drinking water from Kulullu in the Agsu region according to the new project. As a result of investigations carried out drinking water with a capacity of 500l/s or 40thousand m3/d should be transmitted from the source of Kulullu located in the course of the Girdiman River. Kurdamir and Agsu cities as well as over 30 districts of these cities also will be supplied with water from this source which is adapted to the standards of European Union and World Health Organization. Kulullu water source is located in the higher than 170m above sea level and this enables transmit drinking water by gravity to Zardab, Ujar, Kurdamir and Agsu cities as well as nearest villages located along the transmission main. This will allow consumers to be supplied with on a continuing basis drinking water and bring nothing the expenses of electrical energy.

         It should be noted that reconstruction of water supply and sewerage systems of Kurdamir, Ujar and Zardab has been commenced in the second half of 2011. According to the project works in Zardab, Ujar and Kurdamir will be completed lately in 2012 and 2013.
