Water supply and sewerage system in Gakh under reconstruction

The President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev attended the inauguration ceremony of water supply and sewerage system compound of Gakh on November 16.

    The chairman of “Azersu” OJSC Gorkhmaz Huseynov informed the President Ilham Aliyev that centralized drinking water system was constructed in the 1970s and Kumruk and Gumchay rivers were used as water sources in Gakh. According to the new project a spring near Ilisu village will be used as water source. A transmission main with DN 250-355mm to Gakh is planned to be laid.

        A new distributor network with total length of 76,5km and 5 Nos reservoirs with capacity of 1000m3 each are intended to construct. In the frame of the project 63km long sewerage system will be laid to Gakh. Wastewater treatment Plant with a capacity of 3,8m3 will be constructed for treatment of wastewater.

      According to the project Gakhbash and Gakhingloy villages will be supplied with drinking water. Water supply and sewerage services rendered to 13500 subscribers in Gakh and 7200 subscribers in Gakhbash and Gakhingloy villages will be significantly improved considering perspective development as of 2035.

     “Reconstruction project of water supply and sewerage system in Gakh” financed at the expense of the state budget is planned to complete within 20 months.
