“Azersu” OJSC carried out scientific-practical conference dedicated to the 20th anniversary of reestablishment of independence of Azerbaijan.
A scientific-practical conference on “Development of water supply and discharge of wastewater system of the independent Republic of Azerbaijan in 20 years” was held on October 14 in “Azersu” OJSC. Noting a portentous day – the 20th anniversary of reestablishment of independence of Azerbaijan people is preparing to celebrate on October 18, the chairman of “Azersu” OJSC Gorkhmaz Huseynov said that historical independenceof remained in public memory as the most res[ponsible period of development. He also emphasized the potential economy of Azerbaijan obtained as a result of the strategy of National Leader Heydar Aliyev, successfully inside and foreign policy of the President Ilham Aliyev and correctly economical priority the potential. Speaking in the sector of water supply projects carried out in the independence years the chairman of “Azersu” OJSC drew attention that the loan in amount 88,7 mln USD allocated by World Bank and European Bank for Reconstruction and Development for implementation of the “Reconstruction of water supply an sewerage system of Large Baku” is the first loan that involved for infrastructure projects. He also gave detailed information about Oguz-Gabala-Baku - the hugest project carried out in water sector in Azerbaijan in the independence years.
It was noted that substantial changes was declared in water supply and with this implementation of State Program began. “Azersu” OJSC started works on reconstruction of water supply and sewerage system in Guba, Lankaran, Zardab, Kurdamir, Hajigabul, Imishli, Bilasuvar, Shamkir and Mingachevir till the second half of 2011. Within the next days reconstruction works on water supply and sewerage system in some of regions’ centers will be started.
After the plenary meeting the scientific-practical conference were continued in sub-sector, heard lectures on various topics and an excursion of employees was organized in Jeyranbatan Water TreatmentPlant.
