Discussions on the efficient use of water resources held in Ankara

A delegation consisting of representatives of a number of state institutions represented in the Commission established to ensure the efficient use of water resources, improve the water economy management and coordinate activities in this field by the Presidential Decree of Azerbaijan dated April 15, 2020 visited Turkiye under the leadership of the Chairman of the Commission, Deputy Prime Minister Shahin Mustafayev.

AZERTAC informs that the delegation visited Anitkabir, placed a wreath in front of the tomb of Atatürk, the founder of the Republic of Turkey and got acquainted with Anitkabir museum.

Deputy Prime Minister Shahin Mustafayev wrote his heartfelt words in the memorial book.

Visiting the park named after National Leader Heydar Aliyev in Ankara, Azerbaijani delegation laid a wreath in front of the Great Leader's monument and paid tribute to the genius personality.

At the meeting, it was noted that as a result of the serious efforts and strong political will of the President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev and the President of Turkiye Recep Tayyip Erdogan, today the relations between our countries have reached the highest peak of strategic partnership and alliance. It was emphasized that our mutually beneficial and successful cooperation has already left the bilateral format and become an important factor that contributes greatly to regional development, stability and security, including the entire Turkic world.

At the same time, a meeting was held between the delegation and the Minister of Agriculture and Forestry of Turkiye, Vahid Kirishchi and discussions on great experience of Turkiye in the field of ensuring the efficient use of water resources and water management were held and presentations were heard.

Within the framework of the visit, the delegation inspected the Chamlidara water reservoir, the drinking water tunnel in Gereda and a number of other water management facilities and will exchange views on the integrated management and efficient operation of water management facilities.

The Azerbaijani delegation includes Minister of Ecology and Natural Resources Mukhtar Babayev, Minister of Agriculture Inam Karimov, Deputy Minister of Economy Sahib Alakbarov, Chairman of “Azmelsutasarrufat” OJSC Zaur Mikayilov, Deputy Chairman of “Azersu” OJSC Kocharli Hasanov and other officials.
