Sports competitions within the framework of the events related to the "Year of Heydar Aliyev" have been started

Jubilee events have been started at "Azersu" Open Joint Stock Company in connection with the declaration of 2023 as the "Year of Heydar Aliyev" in our country in accordance with the order of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Ilham Aliyev, dated September 29, 2022.

The opening ceremony of the anniversary events, the cherished memory of the national leader Heydar Aliyev and the martyrs who died for the protection of the territorial integrity of our country was commemorated with a minute's silence and the national anthem of the Republic of Azerbaijan was played.

Akif Mammadov, the Chairman of the Republican Committee of the Water Management Employees Trade Union, said that the protection of political stability, legal state building, ensuring national security and defining a new economic course in our country were possible thanks to the National Leader’s efforts. It is planned to arrange large-scale events in various organizations and in the water industry sector, on the occasion of the Great Leader’s 100th Anniversary.

Ilgar Tagiyev, the Deputy Chairman of "Azersu" OJSC, spoke about the great leader Heydar Aliyev’s historical services in the sector of water management in our country. He noted that in the 1970s, the Kura Water Supply Complex and the Kura-Baku water pipeline system were created, the 3rd shift of the Ceyranbatan water treatment plant complex was put into operation with Heydar Aliyev’s initiative and leadership. The water supply and sewage systems of many district centers and large settlements of the republic were created during the period when national leader Heydar Aliyev led the republic in 1969-1982. National leader Heydar Aliyev was also the author of the initiative regarding the construction of the Oguz-Gabala-Baku water pipeline, which led to the improvement of drinking water supply in Baku.

I. Taghiyev noted that a Commission was established in "Azersu" OJSC and the Actions Plan was approved for the celebration of the national leader Heydar Aliyev’s 100th anniversary at a high level. In accordance with the Actions Plan, it is planned to hold conferences on the Great Leader’s historical services in the water sector, prepare a film and a catalog, media representatives’ visit to the Kura Water Treatment Plant Complex, hold sports competitions, tree planting and blood donation actions and an art exhibition in connection with the anniversary.

Sports competitions have been started in connection with the anniversary. 388 employees of the Society will compete in mini-football, tennis, chess, checkers, backgammon, domino and weightlifting competitions.
