Collectors and inspection wells are being cleaned
As part of the preparations for the autumn-winter season, complex measures have been started to eliminate the problems arising in the waste water lines. The specialists of "Azersu" Open Joint Stock Company study the operating condition of waste water systems, clean up solid waste collected in collectors and lines.
In accordance with the action plan, the main transport collectors and lines, viewing wells and rain grates of Baku city were inspected starting from August of this year. In this regard, in Sabail, Yasamal, Nasimi, Narimanov, Sabunchu and Binagadi districts of Baku, as well as in the cities of Sumgait and Khirdalan, points with submersion risks have been identified and cleansing work have been started. In the past period, cleaning work was carried out in 180 km of waste and rainwater lines, more than 15 thousand manholes and grates in the capital. It should be noted that solid waste filling the lines during the autumn season makes it difficult to operate the network and collectors and significantly reduces their transmission capacity. In this regard, cleansing and washing of solid waste collected in sewer collectors, lines and rain grates is carried out after rainfall.
Collected solid waste is removed using special equipment. With the help of special equipment, high pressure water is injected into the collectors, sediments are cleaned and removed by means of a suction device. Cleaning of collectors, lines and rain grates allows the existing infrastructure to work at full capacity. In this way, blockages in the lines are prevented and the normal discharge of water generated during precipitation is ensured. In addition to collectors, small-diameter carrier waste water lines and rain grates are also regularly cleaned of solid household waste. At the same time, the operational condition of sewage pumping stations is checked once again, necessary pumps and other hydrotechnical devices are adjusted. It should be noted that this work is carried out in the Absheron Peninsula as well as in the regions.
