Event taken place on the occasion of September 27 – Remembrance Day

September 27 is the Remembrance Day in Azerbaijan. The Remembrance Day, established by the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev’s Order dated December 2, 2020, is an expression of deep respect for our soldiers and officers who fought heroically in the Patriotic War and died for the territorial integrity of our country. An event attended by martyrs' families and veterans was held at “Azersu” OJSC on the occasion of Memorial Day. First, our martyrs’ memory who died for the territorial integrity of our country was commemorated with a minute of silence.

Referring to the history of the Victory First Deputy Chairman of “Azersu” OJSC Teyyub Jabbarov said that the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict had not been resolved for many years due to the unconstructive position of the occupying Armenia and the talks remained ineffective. "On September 27, 2020, with the gross violation of the ceasefire by Armenia, the Azerbaijani Armed Forces launched a counter-attack operations to prevent Armenian provocations. Inspired by the determination of the victorious Supreme Commander-in-Chief Ilham Aliyev and the invincible unity of our people, our soldiers and officers, who showed heroism in the battles for the territorial integrity of our country, delivered crushing blows to the enemy.

   

Members of “Azersu” OJSC were also mobilized during the war. A total of 188 employees took part in the war, 3 of them passed away and 23 were injured. At the same time, family members of 21 members of our team were killed and 45 family members were injured in the fighting. 21 employees of the Department of Transport and Special Equipment were sent to the battle zone and one of them was injured in the line of duty.

Chairman of the Republican Committee of the Water Industry Employees’ Trade Union of Azerbaijan Akif Mammadov said that the families of employees passed away in the Patriotic War, veterans, especially those wounded in battles, have always been in the spotlight, they have always received material and moral support.

Martyr Mazdak Eyvazli’s father Ali Eyvazli and martyr Niyamaddin Sultanzadeh’s father Husameddin Sultanov noted that the war was a source of great pride for our people along with pains, and thanked our government for the attention and care shown to the families of martyrs.

   

Afterwards, “Azersu” OJSC employees Ramil Samadov, Nijat Mammadov and Mirhamza Agamalizadeh, who took part in the Patriotic War, spoke about their memories in the battles and it was noted that every member of our team is proud of the heroism of our employees.

It was noted at the event that the memory of the martyrs of the Patriotic War will always live in our people’s hearts and their heroism will not be forgotten. The Azerbaijani state will continue to pay special attention to solving the problems of the martyr families and veterans.
