Measures to improve the supply of drinking water to the population are in progress in Baku and surrounding settlements. Due to the internal resources of “Azersu” OJSC, new centralized water supply systems are being established in Zabrat, Mashtaga, Bilgah and Pirshagi settlements of Sabunchu district by eliminating the networks created by the population in the areas with serious drinking water problems. Residents have had difficulty accessing drinking water due to the lack of a centralized network up to date. Frequent accidents on these lines, which do not meet construction standards, led to violations of stable hydraulic regimes, serious water losses, as well as certain risks to water quality. In areas without a network, residents had access to drinking water by vechiles. The creation of new centralized networks not only eliminates these problems, but also allows new subscribers to connect to the system.

In order to eliminate sparse water lines in the region, minimize water losses and improve water supply to consumers, the construction of 5.8 km of distribution water lines has begun due to the internal capacity of “Azersu” OJSC. At the same time, in support of the martyrs’ families and the solution of social problems of veterans made by the Azerbaijan Govenrment, a new network with a total length of 5.1 km is being created in Sabunchu district in the areas inhabited by 21 families of martyrs and veterans. As part of this work, the drinking water supply of more than 1,400 families will be improved. More than 1 km of distribution water lines have already been laid with 160 mm diameter polyethylene pipes.

It should be noted that, due to internal resources of “Azersu” OJSC, drinking water supply is provided in Sabunchu region, Absheron, Binagadi, Sabail, Surakhani, Khazar regions, as well as in villages and settlements of Hajigabul, Saatli, Shamakhi, Siyazan, Neftchala, Bilasuvar and Tovuz regions. The implementation of projects continues to improve.
