Illegal use of drinking water was revealed in Narimanov district

In accordance with the "Action Plan for 2020-2022 to ensure the efficient use of water resources" approved by President Ilham Aliyev, control measures are being taken to prevent water losses and waste. As a result of the investigation of special groups set up by “Azersu” OJSC to investigate cases of illegal use of water, cases of unregistered and off-meter water use were revealed in the Narimanov district of Baku.

During the investigation, it was found out that the facility operating as a car wash on Ahmad Rajabli Street was connected to the nearby water line and the water was used illegally. Due to this, the damage was calculated and the water supply to the facility was suspended.

Despite repeated warnings, one of the addresses that robbed drinking water was a slaughterhouse on Yusif Vazir Chamanzaminli Street. The water supply of the facility, which uses water without registration and outside the meter, was immediately suspended.

Illegal use of water was also revealed in the Narimanov district, in the area known as the garage of the bus number 204. It turned out that a water line was laid from a nearby water pipeline to the garage and the water was used without registration.

Necessary measures were taken on each of the identified facts, unauthorized lines and connections were eliminated. At the same time, the damage caused by illegal use was calculated and the ways of legal use of drinking water were explained to the entrepreneur.

We once again urge citizens to refrain from such actions and state that measures will be taken to prevent such violations. Damage caused by illegal use of water will be calculated and applied to law enforcement agencies. In total, 178 cases of illegal use of water were reported to law enforcement agencies this year.

It should be noted that 10,519 facts of illegal use of water were revealed by “Azersu” OJSC and 130 in Narimanov district in 7 months of 2021. Due to such cases, consumption in the amount of 2,877,000 cubic meters was restored in the country and 31,000 cubic meters in Narimanov district.
