The water supply systems of individual houses and facilities in Garadagh district were inspected to prevent water loss and waste, in accordance with the "Action Plan for 2020-2022 to ensure the efficient use of water resources" approved by President Ilham Aliyev.

The fact of unregistered and off-meter use of water was revealed at the car repair station in the area called Yeni Massif, Korgoz settlement, Garadagh district. It was found out that the owner of the facility illegally got connected to the nearby 110 mm diameter water line and used the water.

A similar situation was observed in one of the cafes in Umid settlement. Although the owner of the facility was repeatedly warned, it was ignored. During the inspection, it was found out that the owner of the cafe again illegally got connected to the nearby water line with a pipe of 21 mm diameter.

As a result of control measures carried out in Garadagh district, it was revealed that drinking water was used illegally in some private houses. A resident who built a new house on Uzeyir Hajibeyov Street in Lokbatan settlement made an illegal connection to the nearby 150 mm transmission main. Despite the construction of a new water line on 20 Yanvar Street, the citizen illegally got connected to the old line and evaded registration.

Necessary measures were taken on each revealed fact, illegal lines and connections were eliminated and damage caused by illegal use was calculated.

We once again urge citizens and entrepreneurs to refrain from such actions, and state that serious measures are being taken and will always be taken to prevent such violations. Law enforcement agencies will be contacted about the perpetrators of such cases.

It should be noted that 10,519 facts of illegal use of water were revealed by “Azersu” OJSC and 445 in Garadagh district in 7 months of 2021. According to these cases, consumption was restored in the amount of 2,877,000 cubic meters and in Garadagh - 109,000 cubic meters.
