Blood donation campaign held by “Azersu” OJSC

To help people suffering from hereditary blood diseases and to draw public attention to this social issue, a blood donation campaign was held at “Azersu” OJSC. Special medical brigade consisting of hematologists of the National Center for Hematology and Transfusion examined the health of each donor and identified those whose health allows them to take blood.

Employees of “Azersu” OJSC's offices and enterprises took an active part in the blood donation campaign. Donors noted that voluntary blood donation for children suffering from inherited blood diseases is a good and rewarding work. Experts from the National Center for Hematology and Transfusion said that the blood samples will be used in the treatment of patients with thalassemia, hemophilia and other hereditary blood diseases after a thorough examination in the laboratory.

It should be noted that in accordance with the First Vice President of the Republic of Azerbaijan, President of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation Mehriban Aliyeva’s call to support the blood supply to those suffering from thalassemia, hemophilia and leukemia, it has become a tradition to hold this voluntary humanitarian action at “Azersu” OJSC. This event is important in terms of creating a blood bank in our country, the development of voluntary donor services to provide children suffering from inherited blood diseases with safe and quality blood.
