“Azersu’ OJSC continues to implement projects to improve the supply of drinking water to the population in Baku and surrounding settlements. A new project has been launched to improve the supply of drinking water to Ashaghi Guzdek residents at the company’s internal expenses.

There were no centralized water supply systems in Ashaghi Guzdek of Absheron. Only in one part of the settlement water lines were laid individually by residents. These lines do not meet construction standards and are good for nothing. Ashaghi Guzdek settlement has been supplied with water from the amelioration canal for irrigation and residents have used this water on the farm up to now.

A project has been developed by “Azersu” OJSC to provide the residents of the settlement with sustainable and high quality drinking water. In the first phase of the project, implemented at the expense of internal resources, 8 km of drinking water network will be built with pipes of different diameters. 500 individual houses and entities will be connected to the new network during this phase. In the next stages, a new drinking water network will be created in other parts of the settlement. In total, a 25 km of drinking water network will be created within the project and 1400 houses will be provided with water.

According to the project, Aghaghi Guzdek will be provided with drinking water through Jeyranbatan Ultrafiltration Water Treatment Plant Complex. For this purpose a 500 meter- long transmission main with 160 mm diameter pipes will be laid by connecting the transmission main passing near the settlement. Thus, individual lines will be abolished in the settlement and at the same time, the water supply from the reclamation canal will be suspended. As a result of the project, the residents will be provided with sustainable and quality drinking water.

It should be noted that due to the internal resources of “Azersu” OJSc projects are being implemented to improve drinking water supply in Binagadi, Sabail, Sabunchu, Surakhani, Khazar districts, as well as in villages and settlements of Hajigabul, Saatli and Tovus regions.
