409,800 analyzes were conducted on 74,000 drinking and wastewater samples in 2020

To maintain the quality of drinking water supplied to consumers, as well as the composition of wastewater within environmental standards, the central, local and regional laboratories of ”Azersu” OJSC carry out control measures in Baku and the regions.

The quality of drinking water is monitored at various stages, from sources to delivery to the user. For this purpose, water samples are taken and analyzed from various points - water sources, water treatment plants, central and local reservoirs, networks, education, health, catering and other facilities. At the same time, the norms of physicochemical and bacteriological indicators of wastewater are controlled. At present, the Central Laboratory of “Azersu” OJSC can analyze 52 parameters of drinking water and 59 parameters of wastewater.

In 2020, the central, local and regional laboratories of “Azersu” OJSC conducted a total of 409,800 analyzes on 73,743 samples of drinking and waste water. During the reporting period, 66,500 water samples were taken from various points for drinking water. 372,000 analyzes were conducted on these samples. At the same time, 37,800 samples were analyzed to study the composition of 7,237 waste water samples taken from different points.

Regional laboratories has been established using the experience of the Central Laboratory in 2018 and currently there are 9 regional laboratories. Last year, 17,369 water samples were taken by regional laboratories and 130,000 analyzes were conducted on the basis of these samples. Regional laboratories also allow monitoring the quality of spring water located in the most remote areas of Azerbaijan.
