Modern equipment and facilities are being put into operation within the framework of drinking water supply and wastewater projects implemented in Azerbaijan. It is important to strengthen human resources and increase the knowledge and skills of specialists in terms of managing the newly created infrastructure.

Within the framework of the project co-financed by the Export-Import Bank of Korea, trainings were held to increase the experience of the workers who will work at the Pirshaghi wastewater treatment plant, which is under construction. 20 employees in engineering, chemistry, laboratory, mechanics, energy and other fields took part in the trainings organized at Pirshaghi wastewater treatment plant. The trainees were provided with detailed information on wastewater treatment technologies.

It should be noted that the construction of a biological type wastewater treatment plant with a capacity of 40,000 cubic meters per day near the Pirshaghi settlement of the Sabunchu district of Baku is nearing completion within the "Pirshaghi Wastewater Treatment Plant" project co-financed by the Government of Azerbaijan and the Export-Import Bank of the Republic of Korea.

The device in the construction of which is used the latest technologies, is equipped with Korean-made mechanical equipment. The facility will prevent the discharge of wastewater generated over a large area in the north-eastern part of the Absheron Peninsula directly into the Caspian Sea. This project is of special importance in terms of protecting the environmental security of the Caspian Sea.
