“Azersu” OJSC continues to implement projects to improve the drinking water supply to the population in Baku and surrounding settlements. As part of the reconstruction of roads in the surburbs of Baku, the construction of a new drinking water network has begun in part of Zabrat settlement of Sabunchi district.

The project implemented in Zabrat covers the streets of Ashig Alasgar, Mirze Mansur, Bashir Safaroghlu and Murad Mirzayev. There were no centralized drinking water networks on these streets. Drinking water supply was provided via the networks created by the population individually that do not meet construction standards. Accidents often occured on water lines that had been in poor condition for many years and there were many difficulties in providing the population with drinking water. Taking all this into account, it was decided to reconstruct the drinking water network in those areas.

Within the framework of the project implemented by “Sutikinti” Enterprise of “Azersu” OJSC, 6 km long water lines with polyethylene pipes of different diameters will be laid in the area. About 500 addresses will be connected to the newly created network. Thus, more than 2,000 Zabrat residents will be provided with sustainable and safe drinking water.

It should be noted that, in connection with the reconstruction of roads, projects are being implemented in Sabunchu, Binagadi Sabail and Khatai districts too.
